Parent Game Plan for Hybrid, Face-to-Face, and Virtual Learning Academy Instruction

Plan de Juego para Padres para la Instrucción de la Academia de Aprendizaje Híbrida, Presencial y Virtual

As we have shared with you since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, when our campuses closed for the protection of your children’s health, Clayton County Public Schools would remain in a virtual learning environment until such time as we could safely return to in-person instruction. We also said, and have maintained, that the decision to return would be based on hard data as supplied by such authorities as the Clayton County Board of Health, the State of Georgia, and the Centers for Disease

In recent weeks, fueled for the most part by the release of the COVID-19 vaccines, the numbers of COVID cases per 100,000 in Clayton County have dropped substantially. We also have a vaccine roll-out plan that will assist us in having our teachers and staff vaccinated beginning in the month of March. This has given our leadership team hope that our student population could return to our facilities in some form or fashion in the coming weeks. Please know, we will not move in that direction without the appropriate data to back it up.

To make the potential transition from virtual, at-home instruction to face-to-face learning as seamless as possible, in whatever format it may take, we need information from you, our parents and guardians of children in grades Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 5. We are asking you to complete a short survey to select your instructional option of choice. You will need to complete a separate survey for each child you have in grades Pre-K through Grade 5. The survey can be found at this link: for completing the survey is Wednesday, March 10, at 12:01 a.m. If you do not complete a survey for a child, it will be assumed that your child/children will return to face-to-face instruction.

We know that many of you have reservations regarding this action. We know there are many who are genuinely concerned for the health and safety of your children, your family, your friends, and your community. We want you to know that we have complete confidence in our instructional,  maintenance, nutrition, transportation and support personnel to provide a safe, healthy learning environment for our students, and that we have the necessary protocols in place to move swiftly, efficiently, and effectively should any emergency arise.

Please help us as we try to bring our children back to our schools.
